Ramadan has always been a time of reformation for me. In addition to fasting and prayer, I try to approach the teachings of the Quran, trying to think about its messages and apply them to my life.
But with a busy schedule, I couldn't always dedicate the time I would have liked to reading.
So I started looking for ways to make this habit more accessible and ongoing.
Then I discovered that there were free Quran reading apps and they completely changed my relationship with reading and studying the holy book.
Today, I want to share my experience with two apps that really made a difference to me this Ramadan. Let's go!
1. IQURAN – Clarity and quality
The first app I tested was IQURAN. What caught my attention was its simple and intuitive design, which makes it easy to navigate chapters and texts.
But what really made me like this app was the quality of the sound recitation.
I have always had the desire to improve my pronunciation and performance of the Quran, but I did not always have access to a teacher who would have corrected me.
With IQURAN, I was able to hear high quality acting and at the same time follow the text.
Additionally, the app offers the ability to highlight transliteration and translation into multiple languages, which makes it much easier to understand the meaning.
My experience:
At first, I used the app just to read the texts, but I realized that being able to listen to myself while I read helped me a lot with pronunciation and memory.
I began listening to recitations during rest periods, before going to sleep, or while performing simple tasks.
It helped me strengthen my relationship with the Quran without having to take the time to sit down and read it.
Another feature I really liked was the keyword search.
Sometimes I wanted to find a verse about patience or gratitude, and with this tool, I could easily explore within the Quran without having to go through pages and pages.
2.Muslim Central – much more than a Quran app
After using Iquuran for a while, I heard that I wanted something that would make me study the Quran and Islamic learning more deeply.
Then I found Muslim Central, an app that, in addition to reading the Quran, offers lessons, tafsir (interpretations) and educational content about Islam.
What caught my attention in this application was the ability to listen to scientists talking about texts and explaining their meanings in detail.
Many times when reading the Quran, I felt that I needed more context to understand the depth of some teachings.
With a central Muslim, I found a clear and convenient explanation that made my reading much more enriched.
My experience:
I started using the app by listening to short lessons before bed. Some were only 10 or 15 minutes long, but they always brought about deep thinking.
It was amazing to see how some interpreted me differently, better understanding its practical application in everyday life.
Additionally, the app has an offline mode, which allows you to download recitations and lessons to listen to without the Internet.
This was very useful for me, especially when I was away from home and wanted to continue reading and listening without relying on Wi-Fi or mobile internet.
How These Apps Changed My Ramadan Routine
Before I came across these apps, I thought I would only keep reading the Quran if I had a physical book with me at all times and time set aside for it.
But Iquuran and Muslim Central have shown me that it is possible to integrate Quran study into everyday life in a natural and simple way.
Now, whenever I have free time, I take the opportunity to read the passage, listen to the recitation, or think about the explanation.
Because of this, my connection with Allah’s teachings became more constant and meaningful, not just something I did when I was away.
So if you also want to make the Quran more present in your life this Ramadan, I recommend you to try these apps.
They are available for download at Android and iOS, and can greatly help in reading, understanding and thinking about sacred teachings.
May this Ramadan be a time of spiritual growth and connection with Allah for all of us!
Now tell me: have you used any Quran reading apps? What was your experience?
